We are looking for a HR Business Partner to partner with business leaders and managers, providing HR expertise, a people-focused strategy, solutions, and direction. You will be responsible for ensuring staff wellness, compliance with employment law and railway regulations, predicting staff needs, enhancing workforce retention, managing termination processes, developing and coaching line managers, talent management, and assessing resourcing risks. You should have a solid HR generalist background, with the ability to influence managers at high levels, work under pressure, juggle priorities, and be flexible with UK-wide travel.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leaders to implement HR strategies for 200-400 staff, focusing on talent development, succession planning, and change management.
- Conduct meetings, act as a change agent, and build relationships with stakeholders to resolve people challenges.
- Analyze trends, manage employee relations issues, and coach managers on HR practices and fair culture principles.
- Support ED&I initiatives, oversee apprenticeship and trainee development, and work with HR teams on resourcing and policies.
- Promote wellness initiatives, proactively manage absence, and develop KPI-driven actionable plans.
Qualifications
- Strong business acumen, experience in senior partnership, and relationship building skills.
- ER experience, coaching, influencing, and talent management skills.
- CIPD qualification or working towards it, with excellent written communication.
- Knowledge of UK Employment Law, digital tools, AI, and project management.
- Experience in fast-paced HR environments, change management, and leadership development.
