The registered nurse utilises the nursing process to coordinate the interdisciplinary approach to patient care. Responsible for promoting and restoring patient's health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and team members; and providing physical and psychological support to patients and their families. Exhibits the core values of the organisation: compassion, integrity, and unity. Practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, specialty standards, and organisational/departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Consistently meets work schedule.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking utilising all aspects of the nursing process.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients.
  • Coordinates health care services with hospital, vendors, physician's offices, and other institutions.
  • Answers patient/significant others' phone calls, evaluates patient's needs, and triages patient care.
  • Provides patient/family education using available resources.
  • Acts as liaison between patient, significant others, and health team members.
  • Identifies areas for professional growth.
  • Participates fully as a member of the Patient Centered Medical Home Team.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • High School Graduate.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 1 or more years of previous healthcare experience.

Required Licensure and Certification:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing OR Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing.
  • Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate RN license from the state in which they reside at the time of their next RN license renewal by 3/31/2026.
  • CPR/AED/BLS - Other BLS certifications.
