Job Description

A global investment bank is currently recruiting for a FX Middle Office Associate for an initial 12 month contract with extensions highly likely.

They are based in Liverpool street and offer hybrid working with 3 days officer attendance required per week. The rate offered for this role will be £340 per day inside IR35. (umbrella)

You’ll play a key role in supporting their trading desks across Forex, Carbon, and Cross-Asset products, ensuring operational accuracy, risk control, and seamless trade processing in a dynamic international environment.

About the Role

Acting as a critical link between the Front Office and downstream functions, you will oversee the full trade lifecycle—from deal capture to amendments, validations, and settlements—while contributing to risk control and supporting the launch of new markets, products, and regulatory initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Lifecycle Management & Control

  • Validate and book all trades accurately in Front Office systems, including Orchestrade.
  • Perform systematic P&L checks and communicate changes to traders.
  • Monitor OT blotters, daily fixings, and funding preparation activities.
  • Ensure trade exhaustiveness for both manually input and internal transactions.

Amendments, Queries & Investigations

  • Action FO-driven amendments with the proper audit trail and trader approval.
  • Investigate breaks and anomalies across trade reconciliations and coordinate with Front and Back Office.
  • Respond to trade booking or settlement queries in a timely manner.

Cross-Functional Engagement

  • Support business development projects, including new products and regulatory implementations.
  • Engage with confirmation platforms (e.g., Reuters) and liaise with internal teams to manage trader parameters and data quality.
  • Play a frontline support role, providing seamless assistance to traders on booking issues.

Product Scope

  • FX Vanilla & Linear
  • Structured FX Products (requiring understanding of exotic derivatives)
  • Carbon Market Instruments

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Experience in Middle Office operations, preferably in Forex or structured products.
  • Working knowledge of trade booking systems (Orchestrade preferred).
  • Strong analytical mindset and comfort with handling large volumes under pressure.
  • Proactive communicator with an interest in financial markets, risk control, and operations.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise across various streams.
