A major global lifestyle brand hotel group seeks an experienced and dynamic senior Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the commercial strategy for a luxury five-star flagship resort in Malta. This role is ideal for a strategic and results-driven professional with a deep understanding of the luxury hospitality market, particularly in Europe and the Mediterranean region. The candidate will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, brand positioning, and market expansion while overseeing pre-opening and operational sales & marketing strategies.
This role is for a Senior Director of Sales & Marketing with strong relations within the Wholesale, Corporate and MICE markets for the Mediterranean region. The position can be based in London with regular travel connections to Malta. The property will be a market leader in Malta from Day #1, opening by the end of Q1 2026 with 394 Rooms & Pool Suites, a large-scale Spa & Wellness, Shopping mall, 280 Residences, Sky Bar, Beach Club, 8 Restaurants and Bars, a Membership Lounge, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy targeting leisure, MICE, travel trade, and corporate segments.
- Lead sales efforts across multiple channels, leveraging an established network within global hotel brands and the luxury hospitality sector.
- Establish and strengthen partnerships with key travel industry stakeholders, luxury consortia, tour operators, and corporate clients.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities and optimizing existing accounts.
- Develop and execute a high-impact digital marketing strategy to enhance brand visibility, customer engagement, and direct bookings.
- Oversee brand positioning, PR, and storytelling to align with the luxury lifestyle market.
- Collaborate with global and regional teams to maximize marketing effectiveness across multiple platforms.
- Lead pre-opening sales and marketing efforts for new luxury lifestyle hotel projects, ensuring a successful market launch.
- Conduct competitive market analysis and establish pricing, distribution, and promotional strategies for new openings.
Revenue & Performance Management:
- Drive commercial performance and revenue optimization, working closely with revenue management and operations teams.
- Monitor market trends, customer behaviour, and industry innovations to adjust strategies accordingly.
- Analyze sales data and KPIs to measure success and refine approaches for continuous growth.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in luxury lifestyle hotels/resorts with 5+ years of experience in luxury hospitality sales & marketing, with a strong track record in pre-opening projects in Europe or the Mediterranean.
- Expertise in leisure, MICE, travel trade, and corporate sales, with an established network in these segments.
- Strong digital marketing acumen, including e-commerce, CRM, and online distribution strategies.
- Experience working with global luxury hotel brands and familiarity with their sales & marketing standards.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and collaborate across departments.
- Willingness to travel frequently to Malta and other key markets.
Education & Skills:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or Marketing.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
