3 month contract
Inside IR35 Sheffield area - hybrid working
My client, a leading financial services provider based near Sheffield are actively looking for a contract Sourcing Lead to join them on an initial three month contract basis. This role will sit in a team of 5 and is a newly created position, following a recent company restructure. You will initially be required to implement a new supplier management system and own and build out the procurement strategy, across the business.
The role
- Supporting 1st line business owners in supplier identification and selection: Conduct thorough research and analysis to evaluate potential suppliers based on financial stability, regulatory requirements, production capacity, reputation, and ability to meet quality standards and delivery deadlines.
- Manage RFI/RFP supplier selection process, ensuring decisions are clearly evidenced and can be audited.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers to ensure the success of the procurement process.
- Holistic Supplier Cost Management: Analyse and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure. Implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Support 1st line and operational risk in due diligence and ongoing monitoring of suppliers and relevant KPI's as required.
- Responsible for onboarding of new suppliers and integration into the finance systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with 1st line and all other functions/teams to ensure alignment and smooth processes.
- Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities and provide regular reports on supplier performance, cost savings, and other key metrics where applicable/requested.
- Collaborating with Finance to input into existing budgets and cost trajectory of contracts.
- Ensuring supply chain meets the business's requirements from a sustainability/ESG perspective and reporting including TCFD (Taskforce for Climate and Financial Disclosure) requirements.
Skills
- Proven experience working to implement a new supplier management system.
- Previous experience gained within sourcing/procurement or similar role within the financial/professional services sector (5 years +).
- Experience in ensuring all relevant standards and best practices (including TCFD requirements) are met in relation to supply chain management.
- Strong project management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Demonstrable experience/background in both financial analytics/reporting and ability to present to internal and external stakeholders/clients.
- Experienced Procurement/Sourcing professional with ability to leverage wider industry network in order to maintain/promote/implement best practices.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).
- Experience with ESG integration and sustainability practices in procurement.
