We’re looking for a People Advisor to join our team in Gateshead and provide business operational support to ensure effective support, guidance and advice on a wide variety of People related matters.
You will work alongside the People services team, reporting to the People Team Leader. Your role will be to support colleagues and managers across the group, support will include but not limited to:
- Employee Relations case management
- Policy & Process updates
- Performance Management
- Capability and absence management
- Grievance matters
- Disciplinary issues
- Support with the delivery of key people projects
What exactly will you do?
- Provide first-line advice, guidance, coaching, and support to all colleagues (including management and senior leadership team) across a wide range of People matters.
- Advise and coach managers on the application and interpretation of HR policies and procedures in accordance with current and proposed employment legislation and local arrangements, to ensure compliance, consistency, accuracy, and best practice.
- Support case management of ER cases relating to disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence and performance. This includes providing advice to managers on policy/procedure and legislation, liaising with Occupational Health, supporting formal investigations and hearings.
- Collaborate on operational projects which improve service delivery, including supporting with the development of team objectives and KPI’s.
- Case management including advice, guidance and support on performance & capability reviews, absence management, resolution of the grievance and disciplinary issues etc.
- Support with exit interviews and identify trends/patterns using data collated and prepare monthly reports.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a HR advisor role
- Strong knowledge of human resources processes
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation
- Strong ability in using MS office
- Effective communication skills
- CIPD Level 3 Diploma/equivalent
- Experience with working with stakeholders at a senior level is desirable but not essential
- CIPD Level 5 or working towards is desirable.
