Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Foundation Trust, Fertility Centre is seeking an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist with a special interest in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery to join our dynamic team. The role involves providing expert care in infertility treatments, reproductive surgery, and advanced fertility procedures. Ideal candidates will have specialist training in reproductive medicine and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care.
The successful candidate will work with established consultants and members of the multidisciplinary team. The appointment will be 6 PAs and includes a hybrid on call commitment for Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The Advisory Appointments Committee (AAC) will take place on 15th December 2024, The appointee will have responsibility for NHS and Private subfertility patients providing assessment and management of fertility patients including clinics and operating lists. Referrals include general subfertility patients, patients with complex medical conditions, and fertility preservation patients.
The post-holder will be expected to deliver exceptional care to patients within the cross-site fertility service. The successful candidate will have responsibility to provide a high-quality service, in conjunction with consultant colleagues already in post and our team of fellows and nurses. It would be expected that the consultant offers continuous responsibility for the care of patients named under their team. Research, audit and clinical governance are a key feature of our group, and the successful candidate will be a core part of this., The appointee will have responsibility for NHS and Private subfertility patients providing assessment and management of fertility patients including clinics and operating lists. Referrals include general subfertility patients, patients with complex medical conditions, and fertility preservation patients.
The post-holder will undertake gynaecology sessions including a weekly ultrasound scan training clinic to train GUM colleagues in gynaecological ultrasound.
On The Fertility Centre the post-holder will provide sessions which include overseeing the management of assisted conception cycles, diagnostics (including saline scans, HyCoSys, outpatient hysteroscopy) and treatments (including IUI, transvaginal and transabdominal egg collection, embryo transfers). The unit has twice weekly rotating team meetings which the post holder would be expected to contribute to including MDT, quality management, operational and educational sessions. Prospective cover will also be built into the job plan. This is a cross-site post and the appointee will undertake clinical sessions at both Chelsea and Westminster and West Middlesex sites.

The post holder will also cover out-of-hours gynaecology in a close partnership with other consultants in the wider department and will be expected to cover The Fertility Centre on Saturday mornings on a 1:4 basis with prospective cover.
It is expected that the successful candidate will enhance the educational opportunities available to our trainees and fellows by any re-organisation and development of services that they initiate. Regular audits will be required and supervision for Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) undertaken by the trainees. Involvement in general management for the unit and hospital will also be encouraged.
