Leaving Care Solutions are seeking committed and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Workers to work on a casual basis, covering shifts as needed. This role offers flexibility with no contractual obligations. Our mission is to make a positive and lasting difference for young people in care moving towards independence, providing accommodation and support for their educational and personal development.

As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, your role involves delivering a responsive, personalized, and high-quality service to young people in their individual flats or shared houses. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, welcoming, and healthy environment for vulnerable young people, supporting their needs and well-being.

KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Working according to person-centered risk assessments and support plans, and liaising with support staff for comprehensive handovers
  • Monitoring behavioral changes, documenting observations, and reporting support needs
  • Maintaining positive relationships with young people, colleagues, and external professionals
  • Providing continuous support aligned with day staff standards, focusing on safety
  • Carrying out health and safety procedures, including cleaning and policy adherence
  • Coordinating with external agencies such as police and Emergency Duty Teams (EDT)
  • Supporting young people during hospital or police station visits

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable young people
  • Flexibility to work weekends and varied hours
  • Qualification in Residential Childcare, Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level in Health & Social Care, or willingness to study towards
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle
