We are looking for a Qualified Learning Support Assistant to join our team and support a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to support learning, communication, and emotional development, ensuring the pupil is included and able to make progress in a nurturing, safe environment. This is a fulfilling role where your care and commitment will make a lasting impact on a child's school experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • 1:1 and group support with pupils learning, communication, and emotional needs
  • Assist the teacher in delivering and evaluating learning activities
  • Help manage behaviour and encourage independence
  • Promote inclusion and wellbeing inside and outside the classroom
  • Participate in breaktime supervision, educational visits, and ICT-based learning
  • Maintain awareness of the pupil's EHCP and ensure provision is followed

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 1 (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • A basic understanding of ICT
  • Awareness of safeguarding, health and wellbeing
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Resilience, patience, and a positive attitude
  • An understanding of Down Syndrome is desirable
  • First Aid trained or willingness to undertake training
