What's the role and what will you be doing?

As an associate consultant in our pensions administration department, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the day-to-day administration of defined benefit pension schemes for our clients. You will ensure that tasks outlined in our guide on the "day-to-day running of a client" are completed.

The role requires good organisation, an aptitude for figures, and great attention to detail. In return, you will be offered a structured career path and a full training program.

  • Checking and reviewing work done by junior team members, including method, arithmetic, and overall reasonableness.
  • Developing awareness of our procedures and ensuring these are followed during reviews.
  • Demonstrating good knowledge of current legislation and awareness of proposals affecting clients, discussing current issues, and flagging potential issues to client leads or partners.
  • Monitoring weekly industry and legislative updates through internal news bulletins.
  • Ensuring all compliance matters are completed correctly and timely.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of client rules, nuances, and practices, and flagging issues impacting benefit structures and processes.
  • Managing day-to-day client contact and ensuring client satisfaction with the service provided.
  • Supporting the development of junior team members, managing work delegation, and considering fees and experience.
  • Keeping team leaders informed about resourcing needs and work peaks.
  • Assisting with mentoring junior team members through exams.
  • Building knowledge of our pensions administration database and suggesting efficiencies.
