We are pleased to be assisting a leading private client law firm with an outstanding reputation for delivering bespoke legal and wealth management services to individuals, families, and trustees. Their Private Wealth team advises high-net-worth clients on a broad range of matters including estate planning, trusts, and landed estates. Due to significant growth and increasing demand, they are creating their first dedicated Trust Manager role – a key appointment that will transform the way that they deliver trust administration and support to their clients.

The Role: As the inaugural Trust Manager, you will work closely with their expert Private Wealth lawyers to manage a varied portfolio of trusts. The role has arisen as trust management work has expanded considerably, and is currently being managed by the wider team. They are now seeking a dedicated professional to centralise and oversee this area of their practice, ensuring consistently high standards and efficient service delivery.

You will be responsible for:

  • Day-to-day management and administration of a portfolio of UK trusts
  • Liaising with trustees, beneficiaries, investment managers and accountants
  • Coordinating trust accounting, including income distributions, tax returns and compliance
  • Overseeing assets within trusts, including landed estate property and share portfolios
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date trust records
  • Supporting the Private Wealth team on ad hoc matters relating to trusts and estates

About You: Our client is looking for a highly organised, proactive individual with strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a background in either law or accountancy, with a good working knowledge of trust structures and their administration. They are particularly interested in candidates with:

  • Experience in trust management, ideally within a law firm, accountancy firm or private client environment
  • Familiarity with landed estates, property assets and investment portfolios
  • A working understanding of trust taxation and compliance
  • STEP qualification (or working towards it) – desirable but not essential
  • Strong client care skills and a collaborative working style

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new role within a progressive and supportive team. You’ll be part of a firm that values expertise, invests in its people, and provides high-quality advice to some of the UK’s most interesting and complex clients.
