The HR team in the UK consists of over 100 people. We have specialist teams in Recruitment, Graduate Recruitment and Development, Learning and Development, Systems and MI, DE&I and Reward. The HR Operations team are based in offices across the UK, working as one team to deliver a Business Partnering and ER Advisory service to our fee earning and business services teams.
The HR Process Analyst will play a critical role in shaping, delivering, and embedding the transition of HR services into the GBS model. This individual will work closely with HR functional leads, the BST Programme team, and key stakeholders across regions to ensure the design and implementation of scalable, compliant, and efficient HR processes.
This role integrates strong process improvement capabilities with a focus on mapping, documenting, and operationalising service delivery models. The role requires senior-level ownership of governance, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure scalable and sustainable service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end process mapping, defining interfaces, handoffs, and touchpoints across HR operations in alignment with the GBS model.
- Develop HR operating procedures, including process maps, workflows, and operating instructions across all core areas within HR (e.g., onboarding, offboarding, performance, benefits, HR compliance).
- Document current and future-state processes using best-practice tools and methodologies (e.g., SIPOC, swim lanes, RACI), ensuring global consistency while accommodating regional requirements.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, COEs, HRIS and other key stakeholders to gather and validate detailed process information.
- Establish a standardised service catalogue, SLAs, and performance metrics per service line.
- Drive process harmonisation and optimisation during the transition from legacy models to the new Workday-enabled structure, balancing global standards with local compliance needs.
- Ensure quality, accessibility, and consistency of documentation across HR systems and knowledge bases, including defining version control protocols and update cycle.
- Support training and communications for new and revised processes.
- Develop governance frameworks, defining roles, accountability, and escalation paths across service lines and geographies.
- Support audit readiness, compliance reviews, and ongoing governance checks across transitioned HR services.
- Champion adherence to HR operating principles, and promote policy and process standardisation.
- Advise on designing dashboards and reports to track programme progress, process KPIs, and workforce data.
- Analyse service and workforce data to identify risks, inefficiencies, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Partner with the programme lead to create and deliver effective communication strategies, providing regular updates to the Steering Committee (SteerCo) and ensuring consistent messaging to stakeholders at all levels in relation to core people activities.
- Design training and onboarding programs for new processes and governance model.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Practical understanding and experience of key HR processes and practices from within a professional services environment.
- Knowledge of HR best practices, including talent management, employee relations, and compensation and benefits.
- Proven experience in GBS, Shared Services, or functional transformation roles would be required.
- Project management skills and an overall understanding of the project management discipline and best practice methodologies (Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent in process design/process improvement experience).
- Advanced skills in process mapping, improvement methodologies, and data analysis.
- Expert Excel and data visualization capabilities (Power BI a plus).
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work with data and make data-driven decisions.
- Capable of working autonomously but also operating as part of a team.
- Well organized with a methodical approach.
