This helps our clients control costs, make authentic ESG disclosures, and improve business performance while progressing towards net zero.
We are seeking an Energy Compliance Consultant to join our successful ESG team. This is a home-based role with occasional travel to the office.
Role and Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will support clients in delivering Energy Levy Exemption services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Data analysis: Focus on Climate Change Agreements (CCA), Mineralogical and Metallurgical (Min Met) agreements, Energy Intensive Industries (EII) agreements, Feed-in Tariff (FiT), Renewables Obligation (RO) payments, energy consumption, and utilities management. Collate and evaluate energy and production data, identify trends, anomalies, and verify accuracy.
- Reporting: Build and develop spreadsheets to monitor and report energy consumption and production output, create bespoke formulas for CO2 performance, and produce clear, accurate reports for clients and internal use within tight deadlines.
- Collaboration: Work with clients, suppliers, trade federations, and internal teams to gather relevant information, maintain Evidence Packs, support audits, and ensure refunds and benefits are correctly applied.
- Communication and punctuality: Manage client engagement tools, attend meetings, update progress, and liaise with HMRC regarding Climate Change Levy claims.
- Teamwork: Assist other service areas, monitor client queries, ensure timely responses, and contribute to product development and service improvements.
- Comply with company Health & Safety policies, take reasonable care for health and safety, and cooperate with colleagues to meet objectives and statutory duties.
Experience and Qualifications
- Essential: Professional manner, excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, initiative, teamwork ethic, deadline management, positive attitude, proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), systematic approach.
- Desirable: Experience in report production and presentation, technical degree, background in sustainability and energy reporting.
