About the role

This advert is for a 10 month fixed term contract to cover Maternity Leave. As Senior Manager for Savings Propositions, you’ll put the customer front and centre of what you do and deliver innovative products and propositions for them and the Society. So, what does that look like? You’ll be designing and delivering customer insight led propositions to market, that create great value for our customers but also deliver commercially and align with Group strategy. Alongside this you’ll be working on key retention programmes, helping continuously engage and deliver for our current members. Underpinning your work will be a commitment to driving and governing any change related to new savings propositions. You’ll initiate and shape the delivery of change as well as engage, influence and manage a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll also act as a SME for broader digital programmes, ensuring that we successfully progress with digital transformation in savings. You’ll be a strategic thinker and work collaboratively with teams across the Society (such as marketing, digital, IT and trading) to deliver commercially strong and sustainable products with the customer at their heart. Away from the delivery, you’ll provide effective leadership to your team and be a leader across the enterprise when it comes to savings products and propositions.

What does the existing role holder have to say

In this role I have the unique opportunity to step back and think about the future of savings and what the needs of both the customers and the business look like. Championing the customer is a passion and this role enables me to ensure the customer is at the heart of every strategic direction we set in savings. I love to utilise my experience to provide different perspectives on problem statements, provide healthy challenge in strategic debates and champion different ways of working which put the customer at the centre of everything we do. Savings is a great place to work. Our department is cohesive in its approach to wanting to improve customer outcomes and continuously develop as individuals and teams. I love being part of it and contributing to working together to drive the business growth agenda and ambitious culture forward.

About you

You must be able to see the bigger picture, to step back and see how things fit together. To digest multiple, often conflicting, sources of information and make sense from the chaos. And to be able to tell that story, in a compelling and engaging way. You’ll be customer obsessed, and be able to demonstrate how you have used a customer led approach in the past. You might have experience of New Product & proposition development, with proven examples of delivering value for customers and businesses - although this is not essential. You will know what it takes to be a great leader, even if you haven't had any previous direct experience of doing so.
