Purpose of the role: The Legal Innovation Analyst will support the analysis of legal focused solutions incorporating their understanding of legal practice, legal technology and processes to support innovation across Firm’s global practices and clients. They will work on assisting the firm’s lawyers in the use and adoption of legal technology tools.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary trainer for legal technologies (such as Kira and Legatics), monitoring engagement with the tools and supporting lawyers in their use.
- Be proficient with specific legal technology tools, supporting business services teams and lawyers and, where appropriate, identify new use case opportunities.
- Act as liaison between lawyers and the Practice Tech and Innovation teams.
- Provide training to lawyers on new and existing technologies or processes and assist with on-boarding, including on policies and best practices within the firm.
- Assist in conducting needs assessments with lawyers and clients with an eye toward developing innovative solutions and workflows.
- Assist in investigating use of automation, AI including Gen AI, data, or other technology tools for business, practice group, or client needs.
- Support Practice Tech & Innovation projects from inception to delivery.
- Support the Practice Tech and Innovation team in identifying new applications of existing solutions.
- Assist lawyers and business professionals conceptualize, design/prototype, develop and deliver innovative solutions – focusing on delivering progressive quick-to-deliver wins.
- Assist in requirements-gathering sessions and provide project management of legal technology projects, including coordinating with relevant legal and business stakeholders.
- Coordinate intradepartmental collaborative efforts liaising with Practice Tech and Innovation team members to support the design of practice and client solutions.
- Provide or assist with providing presentations and demonstrations of Innovation Team products and solutions to lawyers and practice groups.
- Coordinate management of new and existing solutions between relevant business or technical units for ongoing support and maintenance.
- Maintain current understanding of innovation, program evaluation and quality theory, measures, methods, and standards.
- Proactively acquire new industry, data, technology, and process improvement knowledge and skills that promote the continuous improvement of the department.
- Perform other functions as may be assigned by immediate supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Degree qualification, minimum of a 2:1 (or equivalent) is desirable.
- Previous experience of studying for a professional legal or related technical or innovation course or experience of the legal profession.
- Experience of working with legal technology and Generative AI tools and platforms within a law firm or similar professional services firm.
- Eager to learn and champion use of new technology and processes.
- Able to clearly articulate technical concepts using non-technical language to varying levels within the organization.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.
- Strong attention to detail and superior organization skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Proven ability to effectively multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- High level of discretion, comfortable handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
