We are a grouping of supportive rural communities located in North Lincolnshire who are offering an exciting opportunity for a dual role as a Rural Oversight Minister & Lay Ministry Enabler. We are seeking a priest who has a vocation to and love of rural ministry and an awareness of the challenges this brings. Someone with a genuine pastoral heart and a 'listening ear' who can grow and support teams, build relationships, recognise talents, encourage discipleship and lay ministry through sensitive collaboration.

As Lay Ministry Enabler you would have dedicated time to lead the Local Mission Partnership in developing its lay ministry team. This will involve working alongside oversight and focal ministers in the LMP to:

  • Encourage existing ALM’s and readers in their development, including regular gatherings
  • Identify and encourage new vocations to lay ministry across the congregations
  • Develop links with the College of St. Hugh, working on behalf of the deanery with the Warden of Lay Ministry
  • Enable the delivery of modules developed by the diocese to train and expand the abilities of Authorised Lay Ministers

You will have:

  • Clergy colleagues with an enthusiasm to develop ministry teams across the Deanery including Lay Ministry to encourage all to contribute to the life of the church and its mission
  • Space to develop your own ideas and the support to nurture their growth
  • A well appointed 4 bedroom rectory based in the large village of Burton-upon-Stather with excellent road links and amenities
