The role of the Myrus Coach will involve providing dedicated support to learners who may require additional assistance in their apprenticeship progress, aiding them in catching up and advancing by setting personalised learning plans, deadlines, and goals aligned with CareShield’s own standards and national Requirements.

Working in conjunction with our dedicated Functional Skills department, you will coach and assess learners, supporting them as they progress through the Adult Care Apprenticeship, using our own e-learning portfolio system. This is a full time permanent remote based role with regional travel as required. You will have the opportunity to manage your own diary, making full use of technology and face-to-face visits.

As part of the role, you will, as required, visit care homes to carry out face-to-face observations. The successful candidate must hold an Assessors Qualification.

Main responsibilities and duties

  • Plan assessment visits with employers and candidates from enrolment to completion setting clear milestones for achievement.

  • To be responsible for the timely and effective assessment of candidate/s in the workplace, ensuring necessary planning and feedback is negotiated and recorded, to meet Awarding Body standards.

  • To deliver teaching and learning in a one-to-one and group situation, both face-to-face and using virtual classroom techniques.

  • To provide guidance to enable candidates in portfolio building and updating them and informing the relevant Manager if there are any problems.

  • To assist the candidate in mapping evidence for the competency and knowledge components ensuring advice on validity, authenticity and how their evidence can be integrated into functional skills.

  • To provide timely progression and achievement of candidates as well as discuss progression opportunities.

  • To carry out a review for each candidate in line with CareShield procedures and ensure completed units are signed off and submitted for internal verification on a monthly basis.

  • Work with CareShield policies on e.g. Safeguarding to inform Management about issues affecting learner progress and wellbeing.

  • To report back to the relevant Manager any problem related to the candidate/s work placements and documentation.

  • To be responsible for monitoring and completing accurate documentation on the candidate/s progress through Care Shield tracking systems (including on-line e-portfolio’s) and individual action/assessment plans.

Attainment at Level 5 in adult health and social care holding relevant assessors award

  • Functional skills in Maths and English level 2 or equivalent

  • Either TAQA, A1, PTLLS qualification or equivalent assessors’ awards

  • Proven track record of ability to deliver apprenticeships

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • IT competent.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff and outside agencies., * Do you have a full UK drivers license and access to a vehicle?

  • Salary £25,000 to £27,000 per annum

  • Opportunity to earn up to £2,400 in incentives for completion per learner caseload

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. (33 in Total)

  • Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5:30pm, Fridays 8.30am to 4pm
