Purpose of The Role

The continued success of the team has led to an increase in key mandates. We are looking to recruit a Construction lawyer to join our Leeds team, specializing in contentious construction matters. This includes acting for Developers, Lenders, Landlords, Tenants, PPPs, and Public Sector Bodies across various contract types, including JCT, NEC, and bespoke agreements.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in high-caliber work, develop client relationships, and contribute to the expansion of the team and practice. The team is high-performing, cohesive, and busy, with a strong client list and pipeline. Legal Directors are encouraged to lead client relationships and supervise team members, fostering client network development and management skills.

The Team

With over 100 specialist lawyers, including 26 Partners, our Construction and Engineering team provides comprehensive legal solutions across the construction industry. The Leeds team comprises 6 partners and over 30 fee earners. Their combined expertise, commercial approach, strong relationships, and innovation have earned them Tier 1 rankings in Legal 500 and Chambers. The team advises on all aspects of Construction Law across various sectors, including buildings, civil engineering, energy, infrastructure, and utilities, in both private and public sectors. They also support other firm departments such as Real Estate, Banking, and Projects.

Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise

  • Excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree.
  • At least ten years' experience in construction law at a leading practice recognized for construction or Real Estate work.
  • Strong ability to lead complex transactions and coordinate with multidisciplinary fee earners.
  • Experience supervising, developing, and managing junior fee earners.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and development.
