Altus Partners is delighted to be partnering with a leading UK-focused growth capital investor to appoint a Partner to its investment team. With an established track record of success, the firm specialises in deploying £10–£75 million of initial capital into real asset companies, with flexibility for follow-on investment. The firm brings a differentiated investment approach, combining flexible capital structures with operational expertise to support transformational growth.
This is a rare opportunity to join at Partner level, taking a senior role in sourcing and executing new investments, engaging with institutional investors, and shaping the platform’s strategic direction.
THE ROLE:
- Deal Origination & Execution: Demonstrating a strong network in asset-heavy operating companies, lead the sourcing, diligence, and execution of investments in UK operating businesses. Structure creative and flexible investment solutions that align with management teams’ needs and long-term value creation goals. Deliver risk-adjusted returns by tailoring capital deployment to the specific profile and stage of the business.
- Value Creation & Portfolio Oversight: Partner with strong operators to scale platforms, implement roll-up strategies, and build out senior leadership teams. Play an active role at board level, driving governance and portfolio strategy. Align incentives through structured equity participation and shared value growth.
- Fundraising & Investor Relations: Support ongoing fundraising initiatives, engaging with institutional investors to raise capital for current funds. Help structure customised solutions including separately managed accounts (SMAs) and joint ventures. Build and maintain relationships with new and existing LPs, contributing to investor confidence and platform growth.
- Strategic Leadership: Influence firmwide investment strategy and contribute to thought leadership on emerging sector themes and macro trends. Provide mentorship and direction to the broader investment team, maintaining a high-performance and collaborative culture.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: Extensive experience in UK mid-market investing, with a focus on growth capital, structured equity.
- Track Record: A proven history of sourcing and executing investments in asset-backed and operationally intensive businesses.
- Network: A well-established network across UK asset-heavy operating sectors.
- Fundraising: Exposure to institutional fundraising, with the ability to develop and manage bespoke investment partnerships.
