A fantastic global role for a talented CA looking to make their first move from practice or 2nd time mover. This hybrid role requires an individual who can apply technical accounting to the UK business including statutory reporting, US reporting and internal audit for Asian entities.
The Role
- Day to day lead with External auditors – running interim audits, group audit and local statutory accounts
- Support with filings of branch and subsidiary accounts
- Review of major contracts for revenue recognition criteria under ASC 606 / IFRS 15
- Quarterly support with undelivered schedules requirements
- Complete designated month end pack schedules for sister company – mix of supervising review and preparation
- Maintain reconciliation of UK stat accounts to ensure accuracy under UK accounting requirements
- Establish and maintain calendar events and schedule planning to minimise external consultancy costs
- Keep up to date and current with IFRS standards
- Fully document core audit processes with direction to strengthen and establish best practice
- Focal point of internal audit request and routines. Ensure all deadlines are met and all documentation meets suitable standards
- Role will expand to include support across international locations with both internal audit (SOX’s) and External audit in the short to medium term
- Other projects and undertakings as required.
The Person
- Preferred CCAB accounting qualification (or equivalent)
- Big 4 experience or significant audit experience preference in mid tier
- Sound knowledge of financial systems combined with highly proficient use of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to interpret and convey complicated technical accounting concepts into clear terms to non-financial personnel
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, IFRS knowledge
- Ideally internal audit experience and understanding of process development and controls
- High attention to detail and an ability to analyse variances to understand root causes
- Must be of self-starting and problem solving disposition to achieve objectives
- 3 days in the office in central Scotland
