I am delighted to be supporting a well-respected and purpose-led organisation in the search for a dynamic and experienced People and Change Director. This is a high-impact leadership role, ideal for a senior HR professional who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about people, culture, and organisational transformation.
About the Role
Following a significant period of organisational restructuring and transformation, the People and Change Director will lead the continued evolution of people practices, systems, and culture. The focus is now on embedding change, building organisational agility, and ensuring a consistently excellent experience for colleagues and volunteers across the UK and globally. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will provide strategic direction across all areas of the People function - helping to drive performance, inclusion, engagement, and wellbeing. You'll also be a trusted partner to executive stakeholders and an advocate for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior leadership across People and Change, focusing on hybrid working, performance culture, and continuous improvement.
- Champion inclusive, values-based leadership to strengthen internal culture and collaboration.
- Support the development of strategic workforce plans to align with future capability needs and organisational growth.
- Oversee core People operations including HR, business partnering, talent development, learning and organisational development.
- Lead ongoing people-related change initiatives, ensuring effective delivery and a strong employee experience.
- Drive data-informed decision-making and foster a culture of improvement and accountability.
- Support and engage a large volunteer community, aligning people support with a clearly defined value proposition.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, and contribute to board-level reporting and governance activities.
About You
You will be an experienced senior HR leader with a proven ability to lead change, inspire teams, and deliver people-focused solutions at pace. You'll combine strategic thinking with practical delivery, and be comfortable engaging at all levels of a diverse, multi-location organisation.
Essential Experience:
- Proven leadership at Director or senior level within a People function.
- Strong background in change management, organisational development, and culture transformation.
- Experience leading dispersed or international HR teams.
- Expertise in workforce planning, performance enablement, and leadership development.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity while bringing clarity, reassurance, and direction.
