The role: Genius Sports is seeking a highly motivated Business Development and Sales Lead to join our team, to help us accelerate our growth and develop business with media, broadcast, streaming and social platforms. This role will focus on deployment of Second Spectrum video augmentation technology across EMEA broadcast and streaming providers. Reporting into the VP of Sales, EMEA, Brands & Agencies, the ideal candidate should have a thorough knowledge of the Broadcasting and/or streaming industry and ability to quickly learn the products and services the company provides. This is currently a standalone role with the potential to build a team - the successful candidate will be expected to generate new business and build successful supply partnerships in this exciting 360 sales role. The position is based in London and will require travel across Europe.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- New Business Development
- Prospect for potential new supply partners and turn this into increased business.
- Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
- Identify potential supply partners, and the decision makers within their organisation and arrange introductory and pitch meetings.
- Work with team to develop proposals that speak to clients’ needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Present clients with new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
- Work with technical team and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
- Relay feedback and customer constraints to technical team.
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
- Identify business trends with a view towards developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
- Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team.
- Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
- Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff.
- Understand the company’s goals and purposes to continually enhance the company’s performance.
Required Skills:
- A proven track record of growing value for and securing partnerships with broadcasters and streamers.
- Demonstrable success of achieving aggressive sales growth targets.
- Experience in conducting and negotiating commercial agreements, often resolving conflicting needs of respective parties.
- Existing experience selling Technology and/or Technology/Data services to Tier One Clients.
- Ability to build consensus across multiple stakeholder groups within customer to get to agreement.
- Ability to embrace and quickly adapt to new technologies and opportunities.
- Effective use of sales tools (i.e., Salesforce and Power BI) to manage, motivate, and enable the team.
- Excellent organisational, prioritisation, numerical, and analytical skills as well as high quality attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and a team player.
- Independent/autonomous drive.
