Four days a week in school, 1 day a week to study.

You don’t need to go to university to kickstart your career! Do you want to learn while earning and stay up-to-date with the latest technology? If so, Learning Partners Academies network team is looking for an energetic and hardworking apprentice to join our small team, providing network support at Kings College Guildford and other schools remotely. We work closely with Primary Goal, who will provide your training remotely.

You will gain valuable experience and a Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, supported throughout your apprenticeship by Primary Goal. You will receive paid time off for off-the-job training one day per week. You will work with a close-knit team within the school, assisting the Service Desk Lead and IT Technician with support tickets, helping staff and students. You will primarily do first-line support but will also have opportunities to work on projects, such as backup systems.

What you will be doing!

  • Undertaking apprenticeship training provided by Primary Goal.
  • Carrying out helpdesk support, resolving issues related to operating systems, networks, software, user accounts, and websites.
  • Providing first-line support for staff via helpdesk tickets.
  • Assisting in system upgrades and maintenance.
  • Liaising with third-party suppliers for quotes and support.
  • Supporting technology asset management.

What we are looking for!

Working Week: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week, with a 40-minute lunch break. Four days in school, one day for study.

Salary: Β£10,000 for the first 12 months. The remaining 10 months paid at the National Minimum Wage according to age.

Desired Qualifications: GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths, or Level 2 Functional Skills.

Expected Duration: 15 months plus 4 months for End Point Assessment. This is a 20-month fixed-term appointment concurrent with your apprenticeship.

Career Progression: Successful completion can lead to recognition for the Register of IT Technicians (RITTech) and progression to Level 4 Network Engineer apprenticeship.
