We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Technician to join our dynamic team in Cramlington. You will be instrumental in supporting the design, coordination, and delivery of modular construction projects through all stages, from concept to manufacture and installation. Working across multiple live projects, you will liaise with internal design teams, manufacturing teams, consultants, and clients to ensure seamless integration between architectural design and offsite fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and produce accurate technical drawings, BIM models, and construction details using Revit and AutoCAD in line with project and manufacturing requirements.
- Translate design concepts into buildable offsite solutions that align with modern methods of construction (MMC) and DfMA principles.
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, and manufacturing teams to ensure full integration of design and production outputs.
- Support the technical design process including drawing packages for planning, building control, and client approvals.
- Ensure compliance with current UK Building Regulations, CDM, and relevant British Standards.
- Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and project managers to resolve design issues quickly and efficiently.
- Attend design reviews, coordination meetings, and site visits where required.
- Contribute to innovation and standardisation of modular components and design processes.
Requirements
- Past experience working as an Architectural Technician or Technologist.
- Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning procedures.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage workload across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude and problem-solving mindset.
- HNC/HND or degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent.
- Understanding of modular construction techniques, DfMA, and building tolerances in a manufacturing context.
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or cleanroom environments.
- Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards and Common Data Environments (e.g., BIM360).
