We are working with a respected and independent British civil engineering design consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK. With offices in York (their head office), Glasgow, and London, the firm has built a collaborative, technically focused team that thrives on solving engineering challenges with innovative and practical solutions. As they continue to grow, they’re looking to add a Senior Bridge/Structures Designer to their expanding team. This role will be primarily based in York, although candidates located in or near Glasgow or Edinburgh will also be considered.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and delivery of civil and structural bridge schemes for both public and private sector clients. This includes working on highway and rail bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other associated structures, as well as supporting junior team members and contributing to design reviews and technical excellence.

Key qualifications and experience:

  • 3–8 years of experience in bridge and civil structures design
  • Strong knowledge of UK design standards and Eurocodes
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and modelling software
  • Experience working within a consultancy environment
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE) is desirable
  • Must have the right to live and work in the UK
