About The Role

In this role, you’ll build, enhance, and manage products and services that leverage event-based communication to enable researchers to discover content in their research/subject area, discover new opportunities to publish their own research, and stay closely connected to Springer Nature by updates on their past publications with us.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Own and continuously improve the researcher alerting products/services
  • Partner with Product, Marketing and other stakeholders to translate business goals into a product vision, and prioritised roadmap of product bets aimed at growing marketing effectiveness.
  • Develop a good understanding of customer problems and pain points, actively seeking opportunities to analyse and validate your understanding of the market and customer needs
  • Work with stakeholders to embed researcher alerting into the wider customer journeys across marketing and product
  • Maintain a clear system for working, capturing ideas, prioritising features, prototyping and monitoring all product KPIs and business value measurements
  • Lead or take active part in insight validation and requirements scoping sessions
  • Own the backlog and roadmap by prioritization and governance of researcher alerting services with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Work closely with partners across Springer Nature to align plans, unblock developments and contribute to creating a coherent user experience across SN platforms and products
  • Stay current with emerging technology and strategies used to support the customer experience and present findings on a regular basis

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Comfortable communicating across various teams and stakeholder groups and translating between technical, business, and editorial needs
  • Experience with agile product development methods (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Design Thinking, Prototyping) and ability to apply these to new environments
  • Good relationship-building and stakeholder management skills with ability to work autonomously
  • Able to sort out ambiguity and effectively manage complex messaging
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to quickly absorb and utilise new information
  • Resilience in overcoming challenges of a complex, changing environment
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm for digital technologies, marketing, or publishing industry trends
  • Attention to detail, exceptional project management and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once

  • Experience of developing products as part of an Agile team
  • Experience of data-informed and user-led product development
  • Experience of working with distributed development teams
  • Experience working with marketing/alerting products
