The "GEMS Supply Chain Capability Leader" role is a key, execution-focused position within the GEMS (Global Emerging Markets) Supply Chain team. This role operates under the direction of the GEMS Supply Chain Director (located in Dubai) and the GEMS Supply Chain leadership team to identify capability needs and help implement them over time, working closely with the International Supply Chain Centre of Excellence. The role will have ownership over the execution of supply planning and initiatives management, ensuring alignment with the General Mills International Segment global strategy.

What your role is

As a key leader in our organisation, you will be instrumental in transforming our supply planning capabilities to fuel growth for the GEMS region, aligning with the overarching GEMS supply chain strategy. This role demands a proactive and strategic approach, focusing on the following key areas:

  • Drive Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement: Run: Institutionalise Level 3 Business Performance Management (BPM) for Supply Planning, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), establishing robust governance, and ensuring transparent visibility. You will champion consistent data direction setting (DDS) with all plants and markets, adhering to standardised formats. Improve: tackle write-offs by establishing baselines and implementing improvement glide paths. You will optimise master data management, enhance inventory reporting, and provide data-backed (DOS) recommendations. Establish standard Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for product supplies from all EUAU and North America Retail (NAR) plants. Drive the implementation of automated, real-time supply visibility from all EUAU/NAR plants and External Supply Chain (ESC) partners for products sourced into GEMS.
  • People and Culture: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and development within the General Mills India Centre (GIC) planning hub, creating an energised workforce committed to sustainable results. Benchmark best practices across the global supply chain and proactively identify opportunities for implementation within GEMS.
  • Lead Digital Transformation: Spearhead the effective execution of the digital roadmap for GEMS, achieving Fiscal Year 2026 milestones under the guidance of the GEMS Supply Chain Director. Continuously refresh the 3-Year Operating Plan (3OP) to reflect evolving business needs. Design and maintain the 3OP digital roadmap for GEMS Supply Chain, adapting to changing business requirements. Lead engagement with Digital & Technology (D&T) and market teams to execute and govern digital priorities. Partner with the Integrated Planning Transformation (IPT) to ensure successful implementation of the OMP tool.
  • Build a 'Fit to Fight' Organisation: Implement organisational structures and processes that are agile and responsive to market demands. Re-design system capabilities and implement the optimal Make-to-Order (MTO) process for distributor markets. Establish clear Ways of Working (WOW) with all plants/ESCs supplying products to GEMS. Continuously simplify and standardise PEAK and other key processes for GEMS Supply Chain. Partner with Brand Development Teams (BDT), EUAU, and NAR teams to plan and execute strategic initiatives for GEMS. Achieve a 98% fill rate for Häagen-Dazs products across all markets and strive for 85-90% On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery for distributor markets. Enable real-time reporting of supply chain KPIs through a centralised data lake.
  • Drive Organisational Efficiencies through GIC Leverage: Engage with the market and GIC capability teams to prioritise opportunities for GEMS. Establish PMO to effectively execute GIC capability opportunities. Define clear budgets, resource allocation, and benefit cases for all opportunities.

What You'll bring to the team

You will bring a wealth of practical experience, with a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in leading E2E supply chain transformation, including direct leadership of supply chain planning within an operational role. You will be a catalyst for change, adept at leading transformation initiatives through collaborative teamwork and a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Your strength lies in translating data analytics into actionable strategies, driving tangible results and improvements. You will be skilled at leveraging a PMO to ensure projects are delivered effectively and on time. Experience with digital technologies, particularly Generative AI and Machine Learning, will be highly valued. Familiarity with systems such as SAP, OMP, and statistical analysis tools is a plus. Above all, you will be a strong team player, capable of managing, coaching, and influencing others to achieve common goals.
