The Client

Our client is a boutique health and safety and biosafety consultancy which serves the bioscience community. Their customers include Universities, pharmaceutical companies, contract research organisations and biotech companies with core services including auditing, gap analysis, biological risk assessment reviews and competent advisory service. They partner with biotech and pharma companies to uncover blind spots in health, safety and biosafety, offering customised solutions to mitigate risks. Safeguarding against potential litigations, fines and reputational harm.

The Role

They are now seeking a Health, Safety and Biosafety Consultant to support them on a part time basis and assist in progressing their company mission. They are willing to invest in the right candidate and provide paid training which will lead to a NEBOSH health and safety qualification or similar qualification.

Key Accountabilities

  • Reviewing risk assessments
  • Delivering face-to-face training
  • Managing online training
  • Responding to customer questions and providing advice
  • Make time to complete your personal training and career development by attending NEBOSH General certificate in Health and Safety training (this can take place remotely or in classroom setting).

You will be expected to deliver work to a high standard and continuously contribute to improving the operations for delivering these services.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working in a bioscience lab
  • Have at least a BSc in a biological science subject
  • A Masters in a biological science subject (desirable)
  • A Level 3 Health and Safety qualification (or are able to demonstrate that they are working towards the achievement)
  • Ideally Tech IOSH or a similar level membership or a willingness and commitment to achieve membership.
  • A willingness to learn
  • Creative in your approach to solving problems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

The Terms

This role is being offered on an ongoing part time temp contract payrolled through Ten2Two. You will be working 10-15 hours per week. In addition to your contracted hours, you will need to make time to attend your training which is being paid for by the client. This is a predominantly remote working role, but you will be expected to travel into London about once per month (any travel costs will be paid for). A rate of £25 per hour is on offer. Upon completion of your training there is scope to renegotiate your hourly rate.
