About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Head of Bid Management to lead and oversee our bidding process for major civil engineering projects. This is a senior role requiring strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and experience working with Tier 1 contractors.
You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process, ensuring high-quality, competitive tenders that align with the company’s goals and win work. You’ll work closely with various internal teams, including estimating, planning, design, and delivery, as well as with clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the bid process from start to finish
- Coordinate inputs from technical, commercial, and operational teams
- Develop clear bid strategies and ensure they are effectively implemented
- Review tender documents and identify key deliverables and risks
- Ensure all bids are submitted on time, meet client requirements, and reflect our company’s strengths
- Manage and mentor a team of bid professionals
- Build relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Work closely with senior leadership to align bidding activity with business strategy
- Monitor and continuously improve the quality and efficiency of the bid process
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering (essential)
- Proven experience in bid management within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors (essential)
- UK work experience is essential
- Previous site experience is preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high-value projects
- Willingness to travel occasionally to London for meetings and site visits
