Job Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Gloucester
Contract Details: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000

Responsibilities:As a Controls Engineer, you will:
- Develop and support control systems for specialised automated machinery
- Programme and modify PLC, HMI, and Motion Control systems
- Configure networked control systems with distributed I/O
- Integrate vision systems for inspection and measurement
- Oversee machine safety compliance with international standards
- Prepare support documentation for manufacturing and testing
- Provide customer support and travel on-site as needed
- Identify opportunities for process and quality improvements
- Foster relationships with stakeholders to ensure project success
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- HNC/HND or equivalent in a Software-related discipline
- Proven experience with PLC, HMI, and motion programming (preferably Rockwell Logix)
- Knowledge of safety PLC, Kinetix motion control, and Studio 5000
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable to change
- Ability to travel internationally (2-3 weeks, 4-5 times annually)
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- Experience with Sieme ns Control systems and TIA Portal
- Familiarity with robotic applications (Yaskawa preferred)
- Knowledge of vision systems
