Netcompany UK has established a dedicated Service Leavers Programme (SLP) to the Armed Forces Community, creating opportunities to join the Infrastructure Business Unit which supports services to a substantial number of clients across multiple sectors. This opportunity offers the prospective candidate unparalleled recognition, skills development and exposure, career development and an environment to land and transition from the military. SLP candidates are given full support from Netcompany instructors and Veteran’s Employee Resource Group. SLP candidates are also assigned a Netcompany veteran to assist transition, a relationship that complements our formal mentoring process. The Programme is 12 months long, although the successful candidate will become a full-time employee upon completion of the probation period of 6 months. Note the SLP is not an internship – candidates are hired as full-time employees from day one. The role can be fulfilled from our Leeds, Birmingham or London offices. During the 6-month probation period, office attendance of 4 days per week is mandatory.
Knowledge/Abilities: Service Leavers will join Netcompany and be exposed to several areas of the business during the Programme. This will provide insights for the candidate, helping them align to a practice within IT. The candidate must be hard working and open to the necessity for continued professional development. Netcompany will facilitate time and reimburse the cost of certifications gained as part of the programme. It is expected that the candidate has, as part of their resettlement, invested in pursuance of a career in IT and can talk through their understanding of varying aspects of IT initiatives and common technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Operations and Service Desk support as part of a wider team
- Attend SLP dedicated tuition and certification activities
- Attend regular feedback sessions
- Fully immerse in Netcompany Ways of Working and Culture
- Be willing to work both as a part of a team and individually at times
- Have the initiative to continue personal development with relation to Netcompany projects and platforms
- Support the SL Programme and wider AF community development with IT/Business Roles
Available Roles:
- Operations and Managed Service engineer (Consultant level)
- DevOps engineer (Consultant level)
- Security Assurance Coordinator (SAC) (Consultant level)
Qualifications Experience and attributes required:
- At least one year of military service and have begun the transition process at the time of application
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrable desire to learn new digital skills
- Good working knowledge of MS Office suite
- Strong influencing and communication skills are essential
- SC Clearance held or eligible for SC
- It would be beneficial if the candidate has at least one IT related Certification such as Prince2, ITIL, MS Foundation certifications, AWS certifications, etc.
- Understanding of common IT delivery frameworks and methodologies
