A respected UK consultancy supporting major public sector and defence programmes is seeking a Head of Systems Engineering to lead and grow a high-performing team. This is a strategic leadership role suited to someone with a strong background in systems engineering, integrated logistics, and programme delivery—ideally within regulated or government environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and drive the vision and strategy for the Systems & Supportability Engineering (S&SE) function
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of consultants
- Oversee delivery of systems engineering services across complex, high-value projects
- Support resource planning, recruitment, training, and capability development
- Contribute to technical bids and ensure quality through technical assurance and governance
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align capability with business needs
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Extensive experience in systems engineering, ILS, or MBSE within defence, public sector, or consultancy
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Familiarity with UK MOD processes and acquisition frameworks
- Experience with tools such as DOORS and modern SE techniques
- Chartership or equivalent, and eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC)
