Additionally, the role involves responsibilities in team leadership and management. Based in a vibrant Central London studio, the position operates under a flexible hybrid working policy, requiring a minimum of two office days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Engage in all RIBA Plan of Work stages (0–7), from inception to completion.

  • Interpret and implement client-specific processes, ensuring alignment with project goals.

  • Manage key project elements, including briefs, budgets, timelines, and deliverables such as drawings, schedules, and reports.

  • Oversee project assistants’ tasks, ensuring timely delivery, and participate in design meetings, workshops, and presentations.

Design Development:

  • Develop creative, technically sound design solutions that meet client aspirations and industry standards.

  • Coordinate structural, MEP, and specialist design elements into cohesive project plans.

  • Contribute to internal design reviews and prepare high-quality presentation materials.

  • Stay informed on construction legislation and technical advancements through continuous professional development (CPD).

Commercial Oversight:

  • Monitor commercial risks and escalate concerns to senior team members as needed.

  • Track resource allocation and profit targets, assisting in managing work within defined constraints.

  • Document and secure approval for project changes affecting time, cost, or quality.

Quality Assurance:

  • Adhere to established quality management systems, ensuring compliance with project CAD/BIM plans and standardized documentation.

  • Support internal and external audits of project work.

Team Leadership:

  • Foster a dynamic, motivated team environment, contributing to its structure and identifying training needs.

  • Provide occasional reports on resources, fees, or design issues as required by leadership.

Business Development:

  • Identify opportunities for growth and collaborate on bids or submissions for new projects.

  • Maintain an up-to-date professional profile for marketing purposes.

Requirements

  • Proven architectural experience with a robust portfolio showcasing technical and design expertise.

  • Strong technical knowledge of building technology, codes, standards, and specifications.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard software, including Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and InDesign.

  • Excellent communication skills (spoken, written, and graphical) and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

  • Registration with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) is essential.

Benefits

  • Competitive, negotiable salary reflective of experience.

  • Comprehensive package including private medical insurance, eyecare vouchers, 10 paid sick days annually, and a 5% employer pension contribution within 90 days of joining.

  • Flexible hybrid working (minimum 2 office days/week) and up to 10 remote working days per year.

  • Generous leave: 20 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) and additional days between Christmas and New Year.

  • Professional growth opportunities, including CPD sessions, Revit training, LinkedIn Learning, and support for RIBA Part III exams (50% fee coverage and paid study leave).
