We are seeking an Electronic Hardware Engineer who thrives on making a strong personal contribution and who is motivated to help make the organisation a little better every day. We have an opportunity to join our Military Product Support Team, supporting the delivery of display products to a range of customers in military sectors. As a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, you would join our team in Cheltenham, solving problems and driving improvements to our products. You will be a self-starter, enjoy working with others or on your own initiative and always seeking to be forward thinking and going the extra mile to help us maintain our excellent performance. You will also be keen to grow and to seek out new challenges and knowledge whilst in turn gaining more responsibility and seniority.
Having experience working with complex electronics to component level, you will support post design activities on our displays portfolio and in the future have access/opportunities to support any product within the Cheltenham post design and in service environment. You will resolve technical/engineering issues to ensure production output and product performance targets are achieved in the factory/MRO and in service. Management of change is a key part of the role. You will be able to analyse problems to root cause, and drive corrective actions as required. You will manage obsolescence issues, including re-design, risk analysis, cost, last-time-buy, documentation configuration and customer approval. Operating within the strict regulatory regimes of the aviation industry, you will ensure compliance with Aviation technical standard orders (TSO). You will maintain the aircraft system configuration by analysing and amending the directory of documents that go into the structure of our declarations of performance. With time and experience, you will be coached through attaining airworthiness authorisations to be able to approve the release of products and in turn also open doors to more senior positions in the team. Working effectively with multiple departments throughout the business will be key to success and you will build relationships with colleagues across supply chain and quality to act as a link between them and the engineering community.
Qualifications/Requirements: Problem solving is at the core of what we do. You will be qualified to HNC or above in an electronic discipline or have an equivalent relevant level of experience and knowledge. An understanding of electronics to component level is a must and you will be comfortable with using and amending engineering drawings, schematics and specifications. Problems never come one at a time, so you must demonstrate that you can manage multiple projects, all the while ensuring that attention to detail and adherence to regulations are maintained.
Desired Behaviours: You will be joining a team of experienced through life engineers. You will need to be a good team player who is capable of operating in a multi discipline environment, but equally capable of working on your own with an analytical approach and keen attention to detail. You will have strong organisational and communication skills, be energetic and self-motivated, with an ability to self-manage tasks and priorities. Knowledge of avionic displays would be an advantage, Part 21/145 experience also desired.
