Working within our busy IT Department, we have created a new exciting opportunity for an IT Technician who already has gained some all-round experience of providing IT support to all its users. As a key member of the team, you will support the smooth operation of our IT and communications software and systems, providing reactive and proactive assistance in good time to ensure that services are not disrupted for longer than is necessary.

This would ideally suit an individual who has gained previous IT experience but is looking to gain a more intense exposure to all areas within this sector or looking for the next career opportunity and/or new challenges. Main Duties
  • Triage initial support requests and direct/action accordingly
  • Provide IT support from basic user administration through to project tasks
  • Respond to user requests and assist via telephone, electronically or in person
  • Escalate calls to and liaise with third party support providers/suppliers to resolve issues
  • Monitor stock levels of IT equipment
  • Monitor computing power, storage, licences and services
  • Provide input and assistance to projects, including the selection, configuration and deployment of new systems and technologies
  • Audit of device access, ensuring starters and leavers are processed effectively
  • Document administrative tasks and procedures
Essential Requirements
  • Good standard of education
  • Full driving licence

Essential Technical Experience:
  • IT degree, qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • A minimum of 3 years previous working experience within varied IT infrastructure and associated services
  • Active Directory user/group/computer admin
  • Windows file permission administration
  • Understanding of Windows group policy (GPOs)
  • Exchange 2016/Exchange Online user admin
  • Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft Office and desktop applications
  • PC builds and software installation
  • Android and IOS mobile device setup and configuration using mobile device management systems
  • IT asset management and ticketing systems
  • Web and email security systems
  • Telephony admin concepts (extensions, direct dial numbers, ring groups, pickup groups)
  • Working knowledge of networking - switches, firewalls, wireless, IP - DHCP, DNS, VPNs

This is an office-based role, so you must live within a daily commutable distance to Avonmouth. Our core office hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, work outside of core business hours may be required, sometimes at short notice. This may also include occasional travel to other Company sites which could involve an overnight stay.
