KPMG's Governance, Risk and Compliance Services (GRCS) practice within IGH is an area of the firm with tremendous growth potential. GRCS is an integral part of our Enterprise Risk advisory practice. We provide services relating to internal audit, internal control, corporate governance, risk management, and related assurance projects. Clients are based in the public sector, and our services deliver added value using modern control assessment, risk management, and audit techniques focusing on strategic, management, operational, financial reporting, and controls. We also collaborate closely with other consulting teams, including Technology Risk and Cyber Risk, to ensure comprehensive advice and assurance.
What will you be doing?
- Creating annual internal audit plans for clients
- Providing internal audit services on outsourced and co-sourced contractual basis
- Managing and delivering internal audit projects, including planning, review, quality assurance, and reporting
- Offering risk management, governance, and internal audit advisory services
- Conducting risk identification workshops and control reviews
- Delivering control and risk training
- Managing internal control questionnaires and compliance audits
- Collaborating with other KPMG advisory teams
- Maintaining client relationships and overseeing financial performance and delivery
- Understanding legal, regulatory, governance, risk management, and financial standards affecting clients
- Managing client engagement procedures and industry-specific issues
- Developing audit strategies aligned with KPMG methodology
- Involving specialists when necessary and reviewing audit evidence in line with standards
- Communicating findings to clients and drafting reports
- Reporting to Partners/Directors and producing Audit Committee papers
- Budgeting and resource planning for engagements
- Monitoring work progress and fees
- Setting team objectives, coaching, and providing performance feedback
- Identifying new business opportunities and assisting in proposals and tenders
- Conducting staff appraisals and forecasting engagement outcomes
What will you need to do it?
- Experience in assurance, controls, or corporate compliance roles, including auditing and risk management
- Experience leading projects and teams, with full project lifecycle knowledge
- Ability to identify operational and control issues related to key risk disciplines
- Internal audit experience is essential; public sector experience is desirable
- Consulting experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel
- Qualified (IIA, CCAB, ICAEW, CIPFA or equivalent)
