ABS Consulting's Extreme Loads and Structural Risk Division is seeking an experienced Engineer to join our team. ABS Consulting is a worldwide multi-discipline industry leader in risk assessment, hazard mitigation, and management planning for natural, process, or threat-related hazards.
What You Will Do:
- Consequence Analysis
- Explosion, Fire, and Toxic Modeling
- Explosion Testing and Similitude Modeling
- Advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Nonlinear static, Nonlinear transient dynamic
- Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analyses
- Root Cause Analysis & Incident Investigations
What You Will Need:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience
- Experience in fluid dynamics and energy emphasis
- 5+ years of experience performing CFD modeling of dispersion/explosion using GEXCON FLACS
- 5+ years of experience performing consequence modeling using DNV PHAST and SAFETI
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven track record of conducting fire, toxic, and explosion hazards analysis
- Working knowledge of facility siting and/or Fire & Explosion Risk Analysis (FERA)
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with CFD modeling using ANSYS Fluent, Star-CCM+, COMSOL, or equivalent
- Programming/scripting experience (.NET, Python, VBA)
- Project management experience
- Experience as a consulting engineer
Reporting Relationships:
This person would report to the Director of Engineering.
Working Conditions:
Work is normally performed in an office environment. Duties may include site visits and limited overseas travel.
