We are thrilled to announce that we are looking for an assistant to join our UK team! The position will be supporting two agents and is for a candidate who is passionate about adult non-fiction publishing, particularly science, smart thinking and business books.
Requirements
- 1/2+ years of experience in adult non-fiction publishing and widely read in this area
- 1/2+ years of experience reading/editing non-fiction proposals or manuscripts
- Strong administrative experience and organizational skills
- IT skills: MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent communication and phone skills
- A quick learner and entrepreneurial flare
Role Description
- Liaising between lawyers and publishers on contracts, and putting deal memos into Bradbury Phillips
- Reading and editing client proposals
- Liaising with foreign rights team and co-agents (film and US)
- Posting author news on social media platforms and website
- Light diary management
- Managing author requests and assisting with project submissions
- Keeping track of payments and liaising with the accounts department
- Reading submissions, writing book reports and answering queries
