Our client, a FTSE listed company, is seeking to hire a senior finance professional to be responsible for financial reporting and assurance for a major division within the group. This role would suit an experienced qualified accountant with construction or housebuilding industry experience. Previous experience of working in a large listed business is essential. The role will be based in Birmingham with occasional travel to London (1-2 days per month).

Main responsibilities:

  • Consolidation of monthly financial reporting of 10 sub-divisions for submission to Group
  • Weekly production of consolidated divisional cash flow and related analysis
  • Ownership of half and full year end statutory reporting for the division, for submission to Group head office
  • Ensuring rigor and timeliness of all financial reports for the division
  • Compiling weekly sales numbers for 10 sub-divisions and future sales projections with related analysis
  • Oversight of divisional overheads reporting; labour overheads, material costs etc

Your background:

  • Graduate and qualified accountant
  • Very strong technical accounting skills
  • PLC experience - essential
  • Has previously worked in large matrix structures
  • Works well at all levels, with clear and articulate communication skills
  • Construction or housebuilding experience would be highly advantageous
