Signature Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site Manager to Project Manage and complete a construction project in Weston-super-Mare for the next 3 to 4 months. This client facing role requires a hands-on professional to lead site operations from mid project through to successful handover.

Role Overview

We require a client facing Site Manager to take full ownership of a construction project, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of quality, safety, and programme compliance. You will be responsible for looking after the project from mid stage to perfect handover.

Site Manager Responsibilities

  • Site Management & Leadership
    • Manage subcontractors (great relationships in place)
    • Lead, motivate and manage a small project team
    • Ensure full subcontractor compliance and performance management
    • Manage all team communications and stakeholder liaison
  • Health & Safety Excellence
    • Implement and monitor construction phase H&S plans
    • Ensure compliance
    • Maintain the highest safety standards across all site activities
  • Quality Assurance & Project Management
    • Quality assure all aspects of site operations and build delivery
    • Own project documentation ensuring full audit trails
    • Deliver projects to programme, managing progress tracking and forward planning
    • Coordinate with building services managers for seamless installation completion
    • Develop comprehensive handover strategies including snagging and O&M procedures
  • Commercial & Risk Management
    • Manage change control processes and impact assessments
    • Control costs and identify commercial opportunities
    • Forward plan risk identification with mitigation strategies
    • Complete accurate project reporting and documentation management
    • Support procurement decisions balancing cost versus quality
  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain excellent client and subcontractor relationships
    • Manage all stakeholder communications efficiently
    • Ensure timely response to information requests
    • Interpret client requirements and manage expectations throughout delivery
    • Provide continued post-handover support and liaison
  • Environmental & Compliance
    • Establish environmental accreditation procedures
    • Manage site waste and environmental KPIs
    • Ensure contractor environmental compliance
    • Chase environmental sign-offs and certifications

Site Manager Requirements

  • Proven Site Management experience in construction
  • Strong knowledge of construction phase H&S planning and compliance
  • Experience in team leadership and subcontractor management
  • Excellent project management and programming skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and change control experience
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes and procedures
  • Outstanding communication and relationship management abilities
  • Relevant construction qualifications (SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS)
  • Full driving licence

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with building services coordination
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance and accreditation
  • Previous experience in similar project handover processes
  • Commercial construction background
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification
