Excell Supply are currently recruiting for SEND teaching assistants to work with children with various additional needs in schools, for day to day, short-term and long-term positions within school hours. These roles are on a supply basis so are very flexible to work around your busy life.
To be considered for these roles, you will need to be someone who has a caring and nurturing personality, who has the ability to build rapport with children, but also the ability to effectively manage challenging behaviour. A teaching assistant qualification would be ideal, but experience of working with children or young adults with additional needs is essential to these roles.
Working with Excell can help you gain experience working within a number of different schools, or help you gain a long term or permanent placement in a school, depending on your preference.
As a TA your role and responsibilities include:
- Providing support to a child on a 1:1 basis
- Promoting good behaviour / managing challenging behaviour
- Aiding pupils in their learning as effectively as possible
- Helping children with additional educational needs
- Providing feedback on learning and development to the teacher
- Creating and maintaining an orderly and supportive learning environment
- Administrative tasks
