Your role:
The Field Marketing Representative, UK South & Midlands is responsible for supporting sports and optical customers to sell the Oakley and Bliz brands. You will be a technical expert on all product categories with a focus on eyewear, goggles, and helmets. The position requires the training of customers on product technologies and selling tips. As well as training, you will be expected to effectively merchandise products in store, ensuring the most premium branded customer experience.
Main responsibilities:
- Conduct technical training and develop customer knowledge of the Oakley and Bliz brands including eyewear, goggle, prescription, and apparel business.
- Ensure first-class merchandising standards across the account base to include cabinets, windows, displays etc.
- Organise and lead ambassador events presenting the brands and its technologies to groups of customers and end consumers.
- Conduct presentations of new and existing products to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Promote participation and completion of digital trainings on Leonardo, EssilorLuxottica's online training platform.
- Act as technical expert to explain important details such as optics, impact resistance, and UV protection in a clear and concise manner to customers and supporting Account Managers.
- Define and solve problems related to products optics, frames, and lenses.
- Maintain excellent relationships with accounts and representatives.
- Developing and managing incentives for customers to increase their sell-out of Oakley and Bliz products.
- Follow up on customer visits to understand the impact of training.
- Produce quarterly reports of all work completed as a tool for the wider business to drive decision-making.
- Stay informed about what competitors are doing (i.e. new styles, new companies, new technology, etc.).
Main requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills: English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, a strong team player, able to develop productive relationships with teams across multiple business functions.
- Excellent computer literacy with a good understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel.
- Effective planning - implementing an effective customer contact strategy.
- Be able to handle multiple projects under time and resource pressure.
- Takes an active interest and has an excellent understanding in competitors/influential sports brands and the products and approach they have.
- A passion for creativity and commitment to staying up to date with current and future technology.
- Ideally, have Field Marketing or in-store training experience for a Sports or Optical brand.
- Takes a keen interest in sports related to Oakley and Bliz.
Please note the information below submitting your application:
The normal working hours will be 8.30 am - 5 pm, Monday to Friday. However, you may need to work longer when necessary and on weekends. The frequency of this will depend upon seasonality. The Winter season is very busy, often with back-to-back weekends of work. Working Saturdays and Sundays will entitle you to days in 'lieu' so you always work a 5-day week. The role is predominantly field based; 80% of your time will be spent visiting customers. You may occasionally need to attend conferences, trade fairs, and exhibitions. Depending on the size of area you cover, your job will involve overnight stays away from home. The physical nature of the role requires frequent and sometimes prolonged driving of a car, walking and standing during store or customer visits, lifting boxes and sample cases to and from customer locations, and preparing or packing merchandise or sales materials. The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach above shoulder height or below waist height during the course of their day-to-day work. Proper lifting techniques are required.
