The VP of National Accounts is responsible for leading and executing strategic sales across National & Regional Chains (On and Off-Premise channels), with a shared focus on national, private and control-label brands, for Oregon Pinot Noir. This role will secure new placements and build long-term partnerships to grow sales and brand visibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct, develop, and execute a sales plan for National and Regional Chains in North America including identifying opportunities and leading the go-to-market-strategy and execution for NW Wine Company.
  • Regularly call on National and Regional Chains, both directly and with our distributor partners, to respond to RFQs/RFPs, secure authorizations, support execution of programs, and ensure in-store compliance.
  • Educate National and Regional Chains on the unique characteristics of NW Wine Company's wines, vineyards, and sustainability initiatives and how these differentiate us from our competitors.
  • Develop and manage an annual sales plan with goals, track performance both directly with Chain accounts and indirectly through the distributor network, and ensure we stay within planned budgets.
  • Utilize key information tools such as VIP, Nielsen, and ad-hoc distributor systems to regularly evaluate and understand NW Wine Company’s business in the channel.
  • Propose seasonal and thematic programs, manage approved programs internally and externally (through distributor network), assist in implementation, and track for effectiveness and return on investment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with developing Adult Beverage brands (national, private and control-label) for sale to National and Regional Chains in both On and Off-Premise channels.
  • Existing relationships and experience working with the top National and Regional Chains, including Total Wine, Kroger, Albertsons/Safeway, Target, Costco, Aldi, Publix, Meijer, Wegman’s, Whole Foods, HEB, Central Market, Binny’s, Harris Teeter, etc.
  • Experience with building national pricing with wholesalers and retailers, on a multi-state level, that aligns with NW Wine Company’s financial goals and brand standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully and consistently achieve sales goals within a supplier group, winery or domestic distributor.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail are required in order to understand revenue and expense plans, budgets, sales plan variances, and off-premise promotional activity.
  • Exemplary communication, influence and negotiation skills are required in order to work effectively with a variety of people and foster teamwork.
  • Extensive wine industry knowledge including top brands and producers.
  • Strong analysis and forecasting skills with exceptional computer literacy and email writing capabilities.
  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel (including Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint (including design and implementation for print, laptop and classroom presentation) knowledge required.
  • Working knowledge of Vermont Information Systems (VIP) reporting and analytics tool (iDIG) a plus.
  • Working knowledge of IRI or Nielsen data-reporting and analysis a plus.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds.

NW Wine Company (NWWC) is a custom winegrowing facility, specializing in the production of ultra-premium Pinot Noir from Oregon’s world-renowned Willamette Valley. NWWC offers an all-inclusive service encompassing all steps of the winemaking process from vine to barrel to bottle. In addition to the winemaking facility, the company owns ten distinct vineyard properties totaling over 1200 acres, making us the largest landholder-under-vine in Oregon. The vineyards are predominantly planted to Pinot Noir, but also have substantial plantings of Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Riesling. In addition to growing and custom-winemaking, NWWC owns and produces the wine brands Westmount, Wild Hills, Eola Springs Vineyard, and the legendary Hyland Estates.
