Join our team for an exciting mission to provide high-quality, proactive support to a vibrant multi-client community. As a Security Operations Network Engineer, you will deliver best-in-class solutions and work with cutting-edge technology in our customer-focused support team. The primary focus of this role will be our large Network Environment, with a focus on security, firewalls, vulnerabilities, and patching.

Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard network through meticulous security and vulnerability patch management.
  • Investigate alerts, respond swiftly to incidents, and provide valuable recommendations.
  • Resolve incidents promptly, manage infrastructure capacity, and minimise incidents through proactive problem-solving.
  • Proactively manage and patch the complete IT systems infrastructure including the Network, Web Access, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Work with switches and firewalls.
  • Perform proactive scanning, implement ITHC remediation, and join thrilling threat hunting missions.
  • Drive down incident numbers through proactive problem management and present system performance reports.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams, automate remediation, and analyse Cisco/Palo firewalls to meet SLAs, deliver timely projects, and provide high-level technical support.
  • Embrace variety, get involved in exciting business activities, and work across different locations.
  • Be flexible, covering out-of-hours work and exceeding expectations.
  • Ensure timely service restoration, proactive system monitoring, maintenance, backups, installing patches, upgrades, and strategic infrastructure capacity planning and management.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in large network environments.
  • Significant experience patching the complete IT Systems infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto/Panorama technologies.
  • Understanding of network routing protocols.
  • Self-motivated, excellent communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Able to obtain or currently hold the relevant security clearances (SC and/or NPPV).

Desirable:

  • Experience with Pulse Secure, Gemalto/Thales, network automation.
  • Relevant network qualifications such as CCNA/CCNP.
  • Experience with Network Automation.
  • Awareness of recognised security practices and standards.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and backup tools.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK. Documentary evidence will be required. All offers are subject to satisfactory vetting, references, and occupational health checks.
