Position : Finance Manager

Location : Newport, South Wales

Salary : £38,000 negotiable according to experience

Job Summary

This is an opportunity to own the finance function of the business and is a constantly developing role reporting directly to the Board including suggestions on Financial and Operational Improvements in the systems and processes used.

  • Responsible for the day to day financial management of the Group
  • Responsible for managing a part-time bookkeeper and a part-time management accountant
  • Monthly accounting reports

Responsibilities and Duties

Overall Management of the Finance Function in the businesses including:

  1. Overseeing Day to Day Ledger and Bookkeeping Management
  2. VAT Reconciliation and Quarterly Submissions
  3. Bank Reconciliation
  4. Credit Control Management including developing and operating a Credit Management Policy, managing Credit Risk and Exposure, submitting of regular statements to clients, account reconciliations, query management and flagging of credit risk and concerns as they develop This will also include Risk Scoring and making recommendations on New Client openings including Credit Limits as well as circulating Aged Receivables reports annotated with concerns to Operational Directors
  5. Management of the Invoice Finance Facility
  6. Preparation and Management of Supplier Payments
  7. Reconciliation and Management of inter-company loan accounts
  8. Cash Management between the Group Companies
  9. Manage Company Credit Cards and Fuel Cards
  10. Management of Book-Keeper including Line Management, Delegation of Workload and working as part of a team to deliver the above
  11. Working with our Management Accountant to assist compiling the following within 20 days of Month End:
  • Full P&L and Balance Sheet – both by company and a consolidated group pack
  • Asset Earnings by Generator Size and Utilisation Reports
  • Accruals and Prepayments Schedule
  • Transport Recovery information
  • Additional Reports from time to time requested including ROI on specific assets including assisting in building business cases for new Capex requests within the business.

Additionally you will manage

  1. The relationship with Company Funders and Banking Arrangements
  2. Payroll using an external payroll processor
  3. Company pensions scheme

You will need to demonstrate broad experience of financial management and will ideally be qualified to AAT Level 4 or higher

Remuneration

  • Salary dependent on experience c £38,000
  • NEST Pension Scheme
  • 23 Days Holidays per year in addition to Bank Holidays
  • Inclusion in the Discretionary Company Bonus scheme (subject to Business and Individual Performance)
  • Training and Development Allowance
