A brilliant new opportunity to shape Centrica’s environmental future. Are you passionate about sustainability and ready to make a real impact? We’re looking for an Environmental Strategy Analyst to help drive Centrica’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosures and ensure we remain at the forefront of climate leadership. This role is central to maintaining our reputation and communicating our commitments to managing ESG risks, opportunities, and impacts—with a strong focus on environmental strategy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead ESG disclosures: Own our responses to ESG rating agencies (e.g., MSCI, FTSE Russell) and support investor relations with ad hoc queries.
  • Climate risk analysis: Support climate-related financial risk assessments and scenario modelling for our annual TCFD disclosures.
  • Business collaboration: Work with business units to align climate ambitions with financial planning.
  • Advocacy alignment: Lead our annual Trade Association review to ensure Paris Agreement alignment and support indirect advocacy efforts.
  • CDP submission: Coordinate Centrica’s annual Carbon Disclosure Project submission, engaging stakeholders and drafting key content.
  • Materiality assessments: Help run financial aspects of double materiality assessments to identify key ESG priorities for Centrica and stakeholders.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in modelling or forecasting complex data (intermediate Excel skills essential).
  • Ideally, experience in an environmental or sustainability-focused role.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • A degree is preferred, ideally in a STEM subject.

At Centrica, we embrace a Flexible First approach—empowering our people to work in ways that bring out their best. While this role involves regular travel to our Windsor office, we support hybrid working and prioritise meaningful impact and collaboration. Join us and be part of a team that’s helping to shape a more sustainable future.

Why should you apply?

We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place. Our priority is supporting all of the different realities our people face. Life is about so much more than work. We get it. That’s why we’ve designed our total rewards to give you the flexibility to choose what you need, when you need it, making sure that you and your family are supported not only financially, but physically and emotionally too.

If you’re full of energy, fired up about sustainability, and ready to craft not only a better tomorrow, but a better you, then come and find your purpose in a team where your voice matters, your growth is non-negotiable, and your ambitions are our priority.

We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. When it comes to energy, no one does it like us. We make it, store it, move it, sell it and mend it. We’re made up of 12 different businesses, but united by our purpose as Centrica. We’re energisers. Our journey to a greener, fairer future is powered by individuals like you.

Through innovative green products, intelligent energy solutions and developing smarter ways to use and save energy, we’re not just part of the energy transition, we’re leading it. Our commitment goes beyond sustainability. Together we’re bringing our collective energies to create positive change in our local communities.

We’re looking for people to add to our culture – not fit in with it. We’re building a community where you can be unapologetically you, where differences are celebrated, and where everyone can belong. Real inclusivity also means supporting the different realities our people face. That’s why we have the UK’s best Carers Policy and are continually building our approach to flexibility and wellbeing. Of course, we love having fun too.
