VAT Manager

The Opportunity:

This newly created role offers the chance to own and build the VAT function from the ground up, with direct visibility to senior leadership. As VAT Manager, you will operate in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment, playing a key role in shaping tax processes, ensuring compliance, and identifying opportunities for optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all aspects of UK and international VAT compliance and reporting.

• Develop and implement tax controls and processes in line with commercial growth.

• Support due diligence and integration of acquisitions from a VAT perspective.

• Advise the business on VAT treatment of complex transactions, contracts, and supply chains.

• Act as the internal VAT subject matter expert, partnering with finance, legal, and commercial teams.

• Liaise with external advisors and HMRC where required.

About You:

• Qualified accountant or tax professional (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).

• Strong technical VAT knowledge – in-house or Big 4 / Top 10 advisory background.

• Comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-paced setting.

• Commercial mindset with the ability to balance compliance with business enablement.

• Experience in M&A, cross-border VAT, or dealing with PE-backed environments would be a plus.
