Overview: We are currently recruiting for a Lead M&E Engineer for a prestigious high-end residential development, located in the heart of Westminster near the Houses of Parliament. This flagship site, comprising of over 200 luxury apartments. This is a standalone, site-based position with additional labour support provided during peak operational periods. This opportunity is ideal for a multi-skilled engineer who thrives in a client-facing environment, can confidently manage subcontractors, and is looking for long-term career progression within a supportive and growing company. Key Responsibilities: Act as the lead on-site M&E engineer, responsible for all landlord and life safety systems including:Fire alarmsSprinkler systemsCCTV and access controlFan coil units (FCUs)Heat interface units (HIUs) Conduct routine plant checks and light testing within apartments. Serve as the first point of contact for cooling system issues—diagnose minor faults or escalate to external contractors as needed. Manage and coordinate with up to 20 subcontractors on site, ensuring timely and quality completion of works. Perform monthly emergency lighting tests, with labour assistance provided as needed. Maintain and update issue-tracking spreadsheets and other maintenance documentation. Attend and contribute to monthly site and client meetings, providing technical insight where required. Liaise directly with tenants, the building manager, and representatives, ensuring all communications are professional and well-documented. Candidate Profile: Essential: Multi-skilled engineer with a solid foundation in both mechanical and electrical disciplines (full dual qualification not required). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confident and professional in client-facing scenarios. Strong basic IT skills, especially in email correspondence and Excel. Desirable: Experience within high-end residential developments. Background managing subcontractors and working independently on site. Experience with HIU/FCU servicing and BMS monitoring. Salary & Benefits: £45,000 – £47,000 , depending on experience. 23 days holiday , increasing to 24 days after two years and 25 days after three years , plus bank holidays. Company pension scheme.
