Responsible for supporting IT Operations Manager role in tasks related to rig operations and providing backup to IT Operations Manager function when necessary. The role will be responsible for tasks to ensure smooth operation of rig IT systems, including but not limited to rig communication, rig IT security, rig IT infrastructure, and providing necessary support to help Borr Drilling achieve business objectives, and ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data on the rigs.
Responsibilities
- Support IT Operations Manager in rig operations related tasks.
- Collaborate with IT professionals internally and with external service providers to support rig IT operations.
- Provide direction, guidance, mentoring, and performance management when required to service users.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify, evaluate, and implement technology solutions that support Company objectives while maintaining security standards.
- Assist to increase security, compliance and efficiency within the IT Function.
- Work according to our internal governance and established processes, with a focus on Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), SOX and ISO 27001.
- Complete tasks related to defined controls – assigned to specific roles.
- Attend and lead projects according to internal governance.
- Support initiatives within the Information Technology Department and throughout the Company.
- Collate, analyse and present reports to Management Team to assist with decision making processes.
- Ensure delivery of IT Function offshore within Borr Drilling fleet.
- Participate in and support tendering process with external service providers and customers.
- Support end users and service desk to ensure any requests (general, incident, change, problem) that relates to rig operations are handled efficiently.
- Escalate incidents when necessary and ensure continuous improvement initiatives are explored.
- Participate, support and execute Borr Drilling IT tasks related to operational, tactical and strategical plans that fall inside role responsibilities.
- Ensure alignment with IT quarterly objectives and ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain open and transparent communication within team, internal and external stakeholders, and management team.
- Laise and support IT Operations Manager / IT Director with special IT projects when required.
- Assist and act as IT Operations Manager as requested.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or another related field (Preferred).
- Offshore Medical (OGUK) BOSIET.
- Proven technical knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and Cyber Security.
- Knowledge of the Drilling industry would be desirable.
- Ability to delegate and supervise.
- Experience with ITIL and Agile or other project management methodologies.
- Fluent in written and spoken English language.
- Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with industrial information systems and services is preferred.
- Experience with satellite-based communication solutions is preferred.
- This role requires that a high level of confidentiality be maintained.
