A new role for a Tekla Designer / Detailer has arisen in Birmingham. My Client focuses on the high-end delivery of SFS (Steel Framed Solutions) and pre-fabricated structural steel building sections and systems, to Clients within the property and Construction sector. Due to a growth in workload and a strong forecast of projects pipelined, they require an additional Tekla focused Project Designer.

The role will be based within their specialist SFS / Steel Framed Solutions Team and applicants will be required to have workplace based Tekla design experience and ideally Loadbearing LGS (Light Gauge Steel) framed knowledge and experience.

Overview of Project Designer / Tekla Detailer Role:
  • Undertake and complete project design and detailing utilising Tekla.
  • Work from architects and structural engineer's drawings, interpreting the details and information from which you will then prepare and issue the SFS technical drawings.
  • Attend Design Team Meetings.
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with other design team professionals.
  • Work in an organised, proficient and timely manner to ensure a smooth delivery of projects.

Projects will typically be SFS steel framed solutions for the likes of residential, student accommodation, hotel developments and commercial based projects. If applicants are at more of a Senior level you can expect to take more of a lead role in the development, management and production of detailed design plans and technical drawings / packages.

Qualifications / Experience:
  • A qualification in a relevant technical subject is required.
  • Experience of utilising the Tekla software to produce accurate and concise drawing packages for projects.
  • A background and prior experience of working on SFS, cold rolled steel / light gauge steel projects would be required.
  • You will be able to adopt a flexible approach to workload whilst demonstrating a willingness to take on additional work as and when required.
